On Friday, May 3rd, we will be holding a traditional keg tapping of our deliciously refreshing Hofbräu Maibock! With its aromatic flavor and alcoholic content of approximately 7.2% by volume it is one of the best creation’s from Hofbräu’s brewing kettles. Enjoy a taste on the house from the keg that’s tapped!

Although the addition of Maibock to our bier lineup might be the highlight of the weekend, the fun doesn’t stop there! We will have live music on both Friday and Saturday night and we will also be crowning our Mai King & Queen!

That’s right, you have the chance to be Bierhaus Royalty this weekend. (And reap the benefits of having such a title!) Simply use #crownme on your tweets and instagram pics this week for the chance to be crowned the Mai King or Queen. We will crown the winner on Friday night at 8pm.

Finally, on Sunday, we are celebrating Cinco de Maibock! Receive a free Maibock tasting when you join us for brunch. Prost!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Bier steins and pretzels bigger than your head, gorgeous fall weather, and fun times with friends. That’s right,  OKTOBERFEST is finally here and we are ready to celebrate!

Tomorrow, The 55th Annual German-American Steuben Parade will kick off Oktoberfest celebrations in NYC followed by the Fourth Annual U.S. Masskrugstemmen Championship in Central Park. Be sure to look for our Bierhaus NYC float! DJ Tanner will be spinning on board! Check him out here: tannerevents.com or on his facebook page! Join us after the parade at Bierhaus NYC where we will keep the party going with live music by Alpine Squeeze! and a ceremonial keg tapping at 8:00 p.m. Make sure to check the bottom of your stein as someone will receive the secret LUCKY stein and win a prize!

Can’t make it this weekend? Don’t worry, our Oktoberfest events and festivities will continue until October 31st! On Saturday, September 22nd, we will be celebrating the official start to Oktoberfest with two ceremonial keg tappings (5:oo p.m. and 9:00 p.m.), live music, an emcee host, Masskrugstemmen competitions, and more! You’re not going to want to miss it!

That’s not all! On Saturday, October 13th, we will be hosting New York’s only nationally sanctioned Oktoberfest Eating Championship with the debut of The Bierhaus NYC National Oktoberfest Eating Championship! Some of the nation’s most recognized competitive eaters will compete in the championship including All Pro Eating’s #2 Ranked Competitive Eater, Stephanie “Xanadu” Torres from Las Cruces, NM, 2012′s Competitive Eating Rookie of the Year Jamie “Bear” McDonald from Hartford, CT who has been breaking records everywhere he eats, and #4 Ranked Professional Competitive Eater Will “The Champ” Millender from Brooklyn, NY.

This All Pro Eating officially sanctioned National Eating Championship will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Bierhaus NYC and includes a $1,500.00 prize pool with a first place prize of $750.00. This event will be recognized nationally and will be the biggest event in New York City during Oktoberfest this year! It’s sure to be quite the spectacle!

Interested participants can email All Pro Eating at HungryGenius@CompetitiveEaters.com or visit CompetitiveEaters.com for additional information or to submit their registration for The Bierhaus NYC National Oktoberfest Bratwurst Eating Championship scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on October 13, 2012. Professional, Amateur and local Competitive Eaters are encouraged to get involved.

Oktoberfest Reservation Info:

Throughout Oktoberfest, Bierhaus NYC will be accepting both group and individual seating reservations. There will be a $250 minimum for reservations of 10 or more and a $25 minimum for individual seat reservations. Reservations must be cancelled 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee of 50% for both seats and tables. While you’re not required to make reservations throughout Oktoberfest, we encourage you to do so due to the high volume of visitors to Bierhaus NYC during this time. With Oktoberfest just a month away, we are looking to crown the Bierhaus NYC Masskrugstemmen Champion! Tonight, Wednesday, August 22nd, is your last chance to secure your spot as a finalist. All of our finalists will battle each other tomorrow night (Thursday) at 8:00pm to see who will advance to Central Park for the US Masskrugstemmen Finals and the chance to win a trip to Munich, Germany!

Bierhaus NYC is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the official Crowning Ceremony of Miss German-America 2012! The event will take place this Saturday, May 19th at 12:00pm. Seven young ladies are in the running to become the next Queen of the Steuben Parade-we are honored to be hosting this exciting event!

When you think of spring, what do you think of?

Flowers? Little baby bunnies? Puffy white clouds? Well, one thing is for sure–you can’t drink clouds. But that’s okay, because when WE think of spring, we think of something you CAN drink:

Hofbräu Maibock!

That’s right, people! Rich and flavorful Maibock bier is here and we are ready to celebrate!

Gentlemen, grab your lederhosen and ladies, grab your dirndls! Head to Bierhaus NYC this weekend to celebrate Maifest and our very own Cinco de Maibock!

Maifest, which is one of mankind’s oldest traditions, celebrates nature’s bright reawakening after winter’s cold darkness. And what better way to celebrate the coming of spring than with one of Hofbräu’s finest creations–Maibock! With its aromatic flavor and warming alcohol note, Maibock was specifically designed by Hofbräu to be enjoyed during the warmer months. It has the longest pedigree of all Munich’s Bocks, dating back as far as 1614. The brew is noticeably malty and sweet and has an alcoholic content of approximately 7.2% by volume.

We will be featuring Maibock during the month of May and will celebrate it’s arrival this weekend during Maifest! Because of it’s high alcoholic volume, the brew will only be sold in 1/2 liters. (Higher alcohol content? What’s NOT to love about this bier?) Hofbräu Maibock marks one of the high points in the beer-lover’s calendar and is the perfect excuse to spend many an afternoon enjoying the spring weather at Bierhaus NYC.

The Maifest festivities will kick off on Friday, May 4th with a special Reggae Night for all you spring loving hippies at heart! The Jamaican Groove Explosion will be playing LIVE and we’ll have Masskrugstemmen (stein holding) competitions, and plenty more fun.

The celebration will continue on Saturday with–get ready for it–CINCO DE MAIBOCK! Yes, we know, we aren’t a Mexican restaurant (like the wonderfully fabulous Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina on Stone Street) but that doesn’t mean we don’t know how to host a fiesta de German style! Don your sombrero and get ready to dance to some live music, experience a traditional Maibock keg tapping (which means free bier for you!) and the crowning of Bierhaus NYC’s first ever Mai King and Queen!

Bierhaus NYC is turning 1 next week, and we have a lot to celebrate! Join us on Saturday, March 10th as we celebrate our One Year Anniversary and our award for Beer Bar of the Year!

It’s been a crazy year! We were so thrilled to open our doors last March at our Grand Opening Celebration (there was a line down the block to get in!) and we have had such an amazing year ever since with Maifest, Bierfest, Oktoberfest, Holiday Celebrations, NYE, Karneval, Masskrugstemmen Competitions, live music by Alpine Squeeze! and The Polka Brothers, Keg Tapping Ceremonies, and so much more! We’re so excited for even more fun and a lot more BIER in the year to come!

If you haven’t heard yet, we are thrilled to announce that we have been named the 2012 Beer Bar of the Year by Nightclub & Bar! What a wonderful way to celebrate our first year. Check out this article that explains the award. We are truly honored to be recognized in such a competitive industry!

Thank you to all of our friends, family, and fans for your love and support! We would love for you all to join us next weekend so we can thank you for everything you have done for us over the past year. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Oktoberfest might be months away, but there’s no need to fret–Karneval is upon us! It’s time to kick the winter blues and enjoy this wonderful time of the year filled with drinking, eating and merriment! Bierhaus NYC is your 2012 Karneval Headquarters!

We’re kicking off the festivities TOMORROW with Ladies Night! Known in Germany as Weiberfastnacht or “Women’s Carnival,” this unofficial holiday is the perfect opportunity for women to take control and spend the night misbehaving! A popular tradition is for the women to cut off the men’s ties in exchange for a kiss on the cheek! Tomorrow at Bierhaus NYC, the ladies will have all the control! We’ll have drink specials all night plus live music and entertainment. We’ll also be handing out scissors to the ladies–so watch out guys!

Bierhaus NYC’s Karneval celebration doesn’t stop there! The festivities will continue through the weekend with our main event on Saturday, January 18th. Celebrate with us as we tap our special Hofbräu Karneval Keg! The beer will be flowing all day–along with live music by Alpine Squeeze! plus dancing, shot skis, Masskrugstemmen Competitions and so much more!

We’d also love to see some crazy Karneval costumes! We’ll be holding a Costume Contest and will be rewarding anyone who dresses up in a Karneval costume with a free stein and pretzel! You’re not going to want to miss out on this event!
