At Bierhaus NYC, we are passionate about creating an authentic Bavarian experience that will take our guests on a journey to another land. From our “hops chandelier” to our long communal tables, we hope to immerse our guests in a truly unique atmosphere that highlights some of our favorite aspects of a traditional bier garden.
If you’re wondering what to expect upon climbing the staircase to Bierhaus NYC, we have compiled a type of “visual experience” for you to enjoy. With that said however, these photos can only do so much. For the crisp taste of a cold Hofbräu Original, the feet-tapping sound of a live polka band, and the smell of a deliciously warm soft pretzel, you’ll have to come experience it for yourself.
When you reach the top of the stairs at Bierhaus NYC, you will first be greeted by one of our lovely hostesses. They will help escort you to an open table, or point you
in the direction of the bar.
If you decide to forgo a table and head to the
bar instead, you might just be greeted by one of our bartenders, Marlene. If you are interested in trying one of our world famous Hofbräu biers, Marlene will help you to decide which one. Or if you’d like, feel free to sample a few before you decide!
Once you have decided on the bier you would like, be sure to take a moment to look at your surroundings. Along the wall you will see our Stein Club locker that holds the personal steins of our Stein Club members. If you think to yourself that you would love to have your own stein waiting for you every time you come to Bierhaus (plus other benefits), be sure to check out the details of our Stein Club membership here.
You will also catch a glimpse of our “hops chandelier” that hangs over the tables from the skylight above. The wrought-iron chandelier has been wrapped with the same hops that were used when making the bier that you now hold in your hand.
After finishing your first bier, you might be feeling a bit bolder. If that’s the case, we suggest you go bigger. How about ordering ‘Das Boot?’ We do advise, however, to only go this route if you are accompanied by a few of your friends! Give a shout out to Jeff, another one of our bartenders, as he artfully pours your bier.
By now you have probably worked up quite an appetite. But what shall you order? We highly recommend starting off with our Bierhaus Pretzel–a soft dough pretzel imported from Bavaria and served with your choice of sweet or spicy mustard. Next, we suggest our famous slow roasted Pork Shank served with crackling, sauerkraut, and potato au gratin. As for dessert, how does our warm Apple Strudel sound? (We prefer it ‘mit schlag’ or ‘with ice cream.’)
After you’ve had your fill of Bavarian cuisine, it’s time to get on your feet and dance to the live polka music that has been serenading you throughout your meal. Now is not the time to be shy! Clap your hands, spin about…even stand up on a bench to dance if you feel so inclined!

dirndl and head to Bierhaus NYC to experience Oktoberfest festivities that will continue from September 21st until October 31st.
The Oktoberfest celebrations will kick off on Saturday, September 21st, with the 56th German-American Steuben Parade. The parade will begin at 68th Street and Fifth Avenue at 12 noon and will end at 86th Street and Fifth Avenue. Immediately following the German-American Steuben Parade, the Fifth Annual U.S. Masskrugstemmen Championship will be held in Central Park. Semi-Finalists from around the U.S. including Jim Banko, the Bierhaus NYC finalist, will test their stein-holding strength one last time in an attempt to be named the U.S. Champion in Masskrugstemmen and receive a trip for two to Munich to visit the original Hofbräuhaus. The celebrations will continue later that day at Bierhaus NYC with a ceremonial keg tapping and live music by Alpine Squeeze, a German-American festival band known for entertaining crowds with its polka and waltzes.
Throughout Oktoberfest, live bands will play nightly Tuesday through Saturday at Bierhaus NYC. While enjoying the live polka music, we encourage you to

Now for the most anticipated Oktoberfest event in New York City–The Second Annual Bierhaus NYC National Oktoberfest Bratwurst Eating Championship! On Saturday, October 26th, we will host New York’s only nationally sanctioned Oktoberfest eating championship. Some of the nation’s most recognized competitive eaters—including the #1 Ranked Independent Competitive Eater in the World, Jamie “The Bear” McDonald from CT—will gather at Bierhaus NYC at 3:00 p.m. to see who will have what it takes to conquer one of the most well known sausages in the world. Registration is open
to all interested participants. Prizes will be awarded as follows: First Place: $750 and a trophy, Second Place: $500, Third Place: $250, Fourth Place: $100. This event will be recognized nationally and will be the biggest event in New York City during Oktoberfest. A live band and an emcee will entertain guests during the event.
Throughout Oktoberfest, we will be accepting both group and individual seating reservations. There will be a $250 minimum for reservations of 10 or more and a $25 minimum for individual seat reservations. Reservations must be cancelled 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation fee of 50% for both seats and tables. You are not required to make reservations throughout Oktoberfest, but we encourage you to do so due to the high volume of visitors to Bierhaus NYC during this time.
